As part of the ongoing awareness programs aimed at implementing the decree of Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him) regarding the prevention of harmful traditions and customs, a new session was held with local councils in districts 8, 12, 21, and 22 of Kabul City.
This gathering was attended by officials from Kabul Municipality, local elders, members of the Ulema Councils, community representatives, and youth from the mentioned districts. The participants discussed the negative and harmful consequences of certain irrational customs—particularly in wedding ceremonies, funeral gatherings, and Hajj and Umrah travels.
The attendees stressed the importance of reforming these harmful traditions and called for broad citizen cooperation in strengthening the religious and social values of society and promoting authentic Islamic and Afghan culture in social events and occasions.
The program also emphasized adherence to the teachings of Islam, avoiding unnecessary expenses, and staying away from illogical customs. It was stated that monitoring and follow-up efforts in this regard will continue.
It is worth mentioning that this program has also been previously held in other districts of the city and has been met with widespread public support.
