
Kabul Mayor Mawlawi Abdul Rashid conducted a field inspection to assess the progress of several major road construction and public infrastructure projects, including the first phase of the Kabul–Logar Road, the first, second, third, and fourth phases of Gull Bagh Road, the road connecting Irfani to Omid Sabz, the underpass and overpass project at Baraki Intersection, the third phase of Khair Khana Kotal Road, and the road extending from Lab-e Jar to Sarai Shamali.
During the visit, the Mayor highlighted the need to accelerate implementation and instructed the relevant officials to severely observe technical standards, ensure construction quality, and complete the projects on schedule so that all phases are carried out in accordance with engineering principles and road construction standards.
Referring to Kabul Municipality’s commitment to serving residents, the Mayor stated, ‘I considers myself a servant of the people of Kabul and I remains committed to ensuring that infrastructure and public service projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards so that existing transportation and traffic challenges can be addressed.’
He added that Kabul deserves high-quality municipal services and affirmed that the municipality will continue implementing its plans to expand urban infrastructure and improve the city’s transportation system.
During the inspection, the Mayor also issued the necessary directives to resolve technical issues, prevent substandard construction practices, and maintain project quality. He stressed that no low-quality work would be tolerated and that any violations would be dealt with seriously in accordance with technical principles and established standards.
The contracting companies were further instructed to complete the projects within the specified timeframe while fully adhering to technical documentation and quality standards. They were also urged to make effective use of all available resources and equipment to ensure the successful implementation of the projects.
