The Directorate of Environmental Health and Environment of Kabul Municipality recently collected 31,439 kilograms of expired and low-quality food and hygiene products from across the city, which were destroyed in the presence of an assigned committee outside the city in the Gazak area.
Mufti Fazl Karim "Ahmad", Deputy of the Directorate of Environmental Health and Environment, stated that the materials included milk, cream, biscuits, oil, cheese, canned beans, chickpeas, vermicelli, mushrooms, tomato paste, tomatoes, chips, popcorn, various non-alcoholic beverages, and detergents.
He added that to ensure the health and safety of citizens, Kabul Municipality officials continuously monitor and control the city’s markets.
Vendors are expected not to sell expired or low-quality products, and all citizens are advised to pay attention to the expiration date and quality of food and hygiene items when shopping.
