Brief Introduction and History:
The Office of the Chief of Staff is one of the key directorates of Kabul Municipality and is located at the Kabul Municipality headquarters. This office functions as a working and organizational unit of Kabul Municipality, primarily serving as a facilitator for matters related to the Mayor and Deputy Mayors of Kabul.
It is also responsible for implementing all orders and directives of the Mayor in accordance with the law, regulations, and delegated authorities to the Deputies. Furthermore, it is obligated to convey official decrees, rulings, and written instructions issued by the high-ranking leadership of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Additionally, it is tasked with distributing cabinet and Council of Ministers' decisions and ensuring their implementation through the relevant departments and executive branches.
Structure: This directorate currently consists of one deputy office, one executive management unit, and a total of 70 employees and service personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Office of the Chief of Staff:
This directorate is directly responsible for managing matters related to the senior officials of Kabul Municipality, including organizing meetings and appointments for senior officials, handling administrative procedures regarding the decrees, orders, and resolutions issued by the honorable President, the Administrative Office of the President, the Cabinet, and the Council of Ministers.
It is also responsible for public relations, coordination with government institutions, the National Assembly, community representatives (Wakil-e-Gozar), addressing complaints from citizens and municipal employees, implementing directives from competent authorities, executing instructions from the Kabul Municipality leadership, organizing administrative meetings, and handling other relevant affairs.
