In District 8, construction is underway on a new connecting road from the Stanikzai intersection to Bagrami. The road spans 2,561 meters in length and 40 meters in width and is currently being prepared for asphalt paving. So far, 46% of the project has been completed. It includes the development of pedestrian sidewalks, flowerbeds, bicycle lanes, culverts, as well as the installation of streetlights, road markings, and other elements of a standard road. Kabul Municipality has announced plans to begin the asphalt paving process within the next 20 days. Throughout the different phases of construction, engineers from the Directorate of Programs and Projects Management are closely supervising the technical and engineering aspects to ensure the work is carried out with quality and within the planned timeframe. Once completed, this road is expected to resolve significant transportation issues and support the economic development of Kabul’s southern region.
