Along the Kabul–Jalalabad highway, 33 percent of the first phase of the road construction from the Makrorian intersection to Tangi Gharo has been completed so far. Efforts are being made to complete and operationalize the project within the current year. According to the Directorate of Programs and Projects Management of Kabul Municipality, the project involves constructing a road that is 9,397 meters long and 60 meters wide, featuring sidewalks, drainage systems, flowerbeds, bicycle lanes, bus stops, streetlight installations, and other standard road components. In response to traffic congestion and to improve transportation infrastructure in Kabul, the municipality also plans to initiate the second phase of this road construction—from Paktiakot to Tangi Gharo—which will span 10,250 meters in length and 60 meters in width. Once the project is complete, it will greatly facilitate travel for citizens and boost economic development in Kabul’s eastern region
