To promote cleanliness and enhance the beauty of the city, Kabul Municipality has launched the installation of special trash bins along sidewalks and main roads, beginning in District 4. This initiative, with a budget of 34.6 million Afghanis, aims to improve solid waste management across Kabul. According to Nimatullah Barikzai, Cultural Affairs Advisor to Kabul Municipality, the plan includes installing 5,038 bins with a 50-liter capacity for solid waste like paper, plastic, and bottles, along with 50 larger bins with a 7-cubic meter capacity throughout the city. Mr. Barikzai noted that installation sites for 2,000 of these bins have already been designated in seven districts—namely the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 10th, 11th, and 15th—and preparations for installing 1,500 bins are underway. The entire program is expected to be completed within six months. Meanwhile, Mawlawi Saadullah Usmani, Head of Sanitation at Kabul Municipality, urged citizens to properly use the bins and avoid littering sidewalks, roads, and other public areas. He also called on residents to cooperate with the municipality in waste management and transportation efforts
