A follow-up meeting was convened under the leadership of Kabul Mayor Mawlawi Abdul Rashid to review the progress of the Kabul Municipality’s development plan for the year 1404 Solar Hijri. The session was attended by Deputy Mayor for Construction Affairs, Engineer Amir Zmarak Yasir, department heads, and officials from relevant sectors.
Key topics included the completion of ongoing projects, initiation of new ones, acceleration of procurement procedures, and preparation of technical documents for roads and other infrastructure developments. Necessary decisions were made accordingly.
Mohammad Qasim Afghan, Head of Planning, Policy, Monitoring, and Evaluation, presented a summary of the implementation progress. The Mayor reviewed the points discussed and instructed officials to promptly start the construction of roads outlined in the plan while ensuring the design and procurement stages are handled efficiently and thoroughly.
He also stressed the importance of equipping service departments and delivering urban services in an organized and standard manner.
The 1404 development plan covers the construction of major and minor roads, canals, bridges, parks, public toilets, and other infrastructure projects. Some projects are already in progress, while others will commence soon.
The Mayor concluded by announcing that the Kabul Municipality leadership will evaluate the development plan’s progress quarterly to maintain quality, ensure transparency, and enhance public satisfaction.
