
Following the completion of foundational work, the initial section of the Kabul–Jalalabad road is now ready for asphalt on a 2,600-meter stretch. The construction project extends from the Makrorian intersection to Paktiakot, covering a total of 9.397 kilometers in length and 60 meters in width. The project includes the development of curbstones, pedestrian walkways, green spaces, bicycle lanes, parking areas, as well as the installation of traffic lights and road signs. This road is considered an economic corridor for Kabul’s eastern zone, expected to ease transportation for residents while also contributing to economic development. Kabul Municipality has also announced plans to launch the second phase of the project soon. This phase will run from Paktiakot to Tangi Gharo, with a length of 10.250 kilometers and the same width of 60 meters
