The Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Publications and Public Awareness, in coordination with District 11 authorities, organized an awareness program for restaurants, urging them to use fresh local fruits instead of imported ones.
The initiative seeks to encourage the use of domestic fruits in restaurants and hotels, support local producers, and contribute to strengthening the national economy. Officials noted that following similar awareness efforts and notices, many restaurants in Kabul have already begun serving local fruits, which has also motivated farmers and gardeners.
During the program, authorities stressed that monitoring of restaurants and hotels will continue, warning that violators will face legal measures. They added that restaurant and hotel operators are required to adhere to municipal guidelines and Kabul Municipality regulations.
Several business owners welcomed the program and expressed readiness to support local farmers by giving priority to fresh domestic fruits in their businesses.
