
In District 13, the construction of streets in the 42nd block, a sub-road in the 46th block, and a canal in the 60th block has been completed and officially inaugurated in a ceremony attended by District Head Mawlawi Abdul Samad Abid, Engineer Zabihullah Rahimi, Head of Non-Discretionary Projects at Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Programs and Projects Management, along with local elders. During the ceremony, the district head emphasized that various public welfare projects will continue to be planned and implemented across the district to improve urban conditions and provide residents with better municipal services. He noted that residents of the mentioned areas had previously faced many challenges, which have now been addressed through the completion of these projects. Meanwhile, Engineer Rahimi explained that the streets in the 42nd block measure 774 meters in length and 4 to 4.5 meters in width, the sub-road in the 46th block is 760 meters long and 6 meters wide, and the canal in the 60th block extends 580 meters in length, 1.2 meters in depth, and 1 meter in width. Completed over a three-month period, these projects cost a total of 27.9 million Afghanis and were implemented by Kabul Municipality with support from UNOPS. Local residents expressed their satisfaction with the projects and pledged to cooperate with Kabul Municipality in maintaining the newly built alleys, road, and canal. It is also noteworthy that these projects created temporary employment opportunities for several citizens.
