The Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Works Maintenance and Monitoring reports that construction and expansion of the Old Road of Paghman, started in Hamal of the current solar year, has reached 60 percent progress and is expected to be completed within the next three months. The road extends 9,153 meters in length and 7 meters in width, running from Qargha Dam to Taq-e-Zafar. The project includes drainage systems, retaining walls, and 16 culverts ranging from 9 to 12 meters in length and 2 to 4 meters in width. So far, 5 kilometers of the road have been asphalted, while an additional 2 kilometers are ready for paving. At the same time, foundational works on the remaining sections are underway in preparation for asphalting. Once completed, the project will improve access to Paghman’s recreational sites and ease traffic congestion
