The Directorate of Works, Maintenance, and Monitoring of Kabul Municipality is nearing the completion of the second asphalt layer on the new connecting road between Khair Khana Kotal and Qargha.
Officials from the directorate stated that the paving process is being carried out under proper technical oversight and in line with high-quality standards.
The road, with a length of 7,645 meters and a width of 30 meters, has reached more than 95 percent completion and will soon be opened for public use.
The project also includes curbs, pedestrian sidewalks, flowerbeds, road markings, and other features typical of a modern roadway.
Upon completion, the new road is expected to ease transportation for residents in the northern and western parts of Kabul and help reduce traffic congestion in the city’s central areas.
