In Kabul’s Districts 8 and 16, construction is underway on a new connecting road linking Karte Naw to the Qala-e-Zaman Khan main road. The road, stretching 3,094 meters in length and 30 meters in width, features 19,000 cubic meters of retaining walls, as well as curbs, pedestrian sidewalks, flowerbeds, bicycle lanes, and other elements of a standard roadway. The project is planned to be completed within this year.
Engineers from the Directorate of Programs and Project Management of Kabul Municipality are supervising the work at different stages to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Once finished, the new road will ease transportation for residents of Karte Naw and Qala-e-Zaman Khan while also boosting economic activity in the surrounding areas.
