In District 16, construction is underway on a new connecting road linking Qala-e Zaman Khan to the Kabul–Jalalabad Highway. The road, which passes through two lanes, measures 1,645 meters in length and 30 meters in width. The project includes drainage systems, sidewalks, flowerbeds, bicycle lanes, and the installation of streetlights. Work is currently focused on constructing the road’s main structures, with asphalt paving scheduled to start in the coming days. As part of the project, a 201-meter canal measuring 1.5 meters in both width and depth has been designed for water management. Three culverts measuring 17, 31, and 45 meters in length and between 1 to 1.5 meters in width, along with a motor bridge over the Kabul River, are also included in the construction. Engineers from Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Programs and Projects Management are supervising the project at different stages to ensure technical quality and timely completion. Once completed, the road will ease transportation challenges, improve accessibility, and contribute to economic growth in the area.
