Work on the third phase of Khair Khana Kotal Road is advancing across several sections in a systematic and standard manner. The project, which runs through Districts 11 and 17, stretches from Sarai Shamali Intersection to the upper part of Khair Khana Kotal, opposite the Oil and Gas Directorate. Engineer Mohammad Nasir stated that the road is being constructed based on a standard design, covering 3,647 meters in length and 27 meters in width, with all features of a modern roadway. He also noted that asphalt work on a single lane measuring 1,800 meters in length and 12 meters in width will begin within the next two weeks. Kabul Municipality aims to complete the first asphalt layer before the arrival of cold weather in order to avoid transportation difficulties for residents during winter. Khair Khana Kotal Road is regarded as one of Kabul’s most important highways, connecting the northern provinces with the capital. Once fully completed and expanded, it will greatly improve transportation and mobility for city residents
