Construction of the first phase of the Bagrami–Lata Band Road in District 21, which connects to the Kabul–Jalalabad Highway, is progressing quickly, with 25 percent of the work completed. Preparations are underway to begin asphalt work as soon as possible.The Directorate of Programs and Projects Management reported that the project covers 3,300 meters in length and 60 meters in width. It includes canals, sidewalks, flowerbeds, bicycle lanes, four culverts, and around 7,000 cubic meters of retaining wall, along with all other components of a standard road.
Once completed, the road will ease travel for residents of District 21 while boosting economic and transportation activities in the area.
Due to its importance in distributing traffic flow from the south to the east, Kabul Municipality also plans to begin construction of the second phase in the near future.
