Kabul Municipality, in cooperation with UNOPS, has started construction work on a subroad in the Fourth Makrorian area, located in the 21st section of District 9.
The road, stretching 695 meters in length and 6 meters in width, will be constructed to standard specifications. The project includes side drains and sidewalks on both sides, measuring 695 meters long and 2 to 3 meters wide. Construction is expected to be completed within four months.
Deputy of District 9, Mawlawi Abdul Ghafoor Ghafoori, said that residents of Fourth Makrorian had long suffered due to the poor condition of the road. He added that, following the district’s proposal and under the leadership of Kabul Municipality, practical construction has now started, which will resolve both transportation and urban challenges in the area once completed.
The project also creates employment opportunities for several local workers.
