Work is currently underway on a new connecting road in Joy Shir, stretching from the Kabul Provincial Administrative Building to the Machine Khana area, with efforts being made to complete the project as soon as possible. According to officials from Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Programs and Projects Management, the road is designed with a length of 783 meters and a width of 32 meters, and includes drainage systems, pedestrian walkways, and retaining walls. As part of its ongoing development plans, Kabul Municipality aims to improve the city’s central transportation network and reduce traffic congestion. In this regard, a bridge will be constructed to facilitate vehicle movement from the Sadarat Intersection toward Joy Shir, in front of the provincial administrative building. The project design has extended to its final stages, and the procurement phase will begin soon. Upon completion of the Joy Shir connecting road, traffic congestion in nearby areas such as Sadarat Intersection, Malik Asghar Intersection, Qowai Markaz, Deh Afghanan, Zirzamini, and surrounding areas is expected to significantly decrease, while also creating further opportunities for economic growth and urban activities in the city
