The construction of the first phase of the Bagrami–Latah Band Road, which connects to the Kabul–Jalalabad Highway in District 21, is progressing rapidly, with efforts underway to prepare it for asphalting soon.
The project spans 3,300 meters in length and 60 meters in width, and includes the construction of drainage systems, pedestrian walkways, flowerbeds, bicycle lanes, a canal, four small bridges, and around 7,000 cubic meters of retaining walls—along with all other components of a standard road.
Given the road’s strategic role in facilitating traffic flow from the southern to eastern parts of the city, Kabul Municipality also plans to begin work on the second phase soon, with procurement processes already underway.
Once completed, the road will greatly improve transportation for residents of the eastern zone and play a vital role in supporting Kabul’s economic growth.
