Construction work on the road connecting Joy Shir to Pul-e Artel in District 2 is progressing rapidly, with asphalt paving scheduled for completion before the onset of winter. According to the Directorate of Programs and Projects Management of Kabul Municipality, the road spans 860 meters in length and 45 meters in width. The project includes the construction of a 273-meter-long, 2-meter-wide canal; a 95-meter-long, 60-centimeter-wide, and 5-meter-high retaining wall; as well as pedestrian walkways, drainage systems, flowerbeds, road markings, and the installation of streetlights. Once completed, this project will help ease traffic congestion in the city’s central areas and contribute to economic development in the surrounding neighborhoods. It is also noteworthy that Kabul Municipality plans to expand the road network from Farhang Intersection to Shah-e Do Shamshira Intersection, a project currently in the procurement stage as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance transportation and infrastructure throughout the city
