After completing the foundational works, Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Works Maintenance and Monitoring has started asphalt paving on the remaining section of the right lane of the road extending from Tahia Maskan Intersection to Sarai Shamali. This section measures 600 meters in length and 9 meters in width.

Both sides of the road feature subroads measuring 1,100 meters in length and 14.5 meters in width. The project also includes the construction of sidewalks, flowerbeds, bicycle lanes, parking areas, and the installation of streetlights and traffic signs.

Meanwhile, asphalt work on the left lane of the same road was completed earlier, and paving of the right lane is expected to be finalized soon and opened for public use. Once completed, the project will further enhance urban facilities and help reduce traffic congestion in Sarai Shamali and nearby areas.

It is noteworthy that, as part of surface water management, the construction and excavation of a drainage canal and absorption wells along the Sarai Shamali and Tahia Maskan roads—considered essential project components—were completed earlier.
