Work has started on the second layer of asphalt on Kamari Road, located to the west of the Bagrami Project in District 22, with efforts underway to complete the project and open it for public use before the onset of winter. The road spans a total of 2,586 meters in length. Of this, a 1,255-meter section with widths of 26 and 31 meters will be asphalted, while a 1,331-meter section with a width of 6.5 meters will be constructed in concrete. According to the Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Programs and Projects Management, alongside the asphalt work, construction of the concrete section is also progressing, and concreting works are expected to begin soon. The project also includes the construction of a large water canal measuring 1,255 meters in length and 2 meters in width; 46 culverts each 4.4 meters long and 3 meters wide; an 85-meter-long retaining wall with heights of 2.7 meters and widths ranging from 1.9 to 2.1 meters; as well as drainage systems, pedestrian walkways, flowerbeds, installation of streetlights, road markings, and other standard features of a modern roadway. This road, designed in line with the principles of balanced development and Kabul Municipality’s urban development plan, plays a vital role in expanding transportation infrastructure, reducing traffic congestion, and improving mobility for residents of District 22
