The first layer of asphalt on the new connecting road from Mahbas intersection to Saleem Karwan Road in District 12 is nearing completion, with work advancing quickly and expected to finish soon. The road extends 2,009 meters in length and varies between 24, 30, and 40 meters in width. The project also includes drainage systems, pedestrian walkways, flowerbeds, bicycle lanes, streetlights, and traffic signs. According to the Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Programs and Projects Management, the second asphalt layer will begin immediately after the first layer is completed, ensuring the road is finished and opened to traffic as soon as possible
