The road construction and expansion project from Joy Shir to Pul-e Artel in District 2 has reached 40 percent progress, with ongoing efforts to complete asphalt work on one lane before the onset of winter. According to the Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Programs and Projects Management, the road extends 860 meters in length and 45 meters in width. The project includes the construction of a 273-meter-long, 2-meter-wide drainage canal; a retaining wall measuring 95 meters in length, 60 centimeters in width, and 5 meters in height; as well as pedestrian walkways, drainage systems, flowerbeds, road markings, and the installation of streetlights. Once completed, the project will help ease traffic congestion in central areas of the city and contribute to the economic growth of surrounding areas. Additionally, Kabul Municipality is implementing another major project to construct a road from Pul-e Artel to Dehmazang, where foundational work is currently underway.
