
The major underpass construction project at Baraki Intersection, started in the month of Jawza by the Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Works Maintenance and Monitoring, has progressed 60 percent so far. The underpass, extending from Naderia High School toward the Traffic Intersection, is designed with a length of 470 meters, a width of 20 meters, and a depth of 5.5 meters. The structure includes 525 reinforcement piles to ensure safe and smooth vehicle movement. According to Kabul Municipality officials, efforts are underway to complete the project in a short period and hand it over for public use. Following the completion of the underpass, construction work on an overpass bridge at the same intersection will begin. The bridge, stretching from Dahan-e Bagh Intersection to Parwan Du Intersection, is designed to be 700 meters long, 20 meters wide, 5.5 meters high, and supported by 247 reinforcement piles. The Kabul Municipality has urged residents to avoid unnecessary movement in the project area during implementation.
