After the victory of the Islamic Emirate, the process of clearing and removing concrete barriers from blocked streets began based on the decision of the responsible commission. Consequently, over 130 routes in Kabul were reopened for public use, an effort that received praise and appreciation from the city’s residents. Recently, to ease the movement of vehicles and pedestrians and to reopen city routes, the responsible committee has once again begun removing concrete barriers from the streets and sidewalks of Kabul, following the decision of the Islamic Emirate’s cabinet. This initiative is being conducted under the supervision of the Ministry of Interior, in coordination with Kabul Municipality and other member institutions of the committee. The program aims to clear the routes and reopen previously blocked streets and sidewalks for public use. According to a survey carried out by the responsible committee, 270 locations with barriers have been identified throughout Kabul city, and their removal is currently progressing in phases. The leadership of Kabul Municipality has expressed gratitude to the individuals and officials who have cooperated in the process of removing barriers, and it reminds that the placement of concrete barriers in front of homes and offices had been causing road blockages and creating traffic problems throughout the city. In the latest measures, concrete barriers that had partially blocked routes on Qargha Road, Darulaman Road, in front of the Kabul provincial administration building, Foreign Affairs Road, and the former Ministry of Interior Road have been removed. Moreover, in recent days, a number of unnecessary barriers have been removed from various streets and sidewalks across the city, an action that has been met with widespread approval from the citizens. Kabul Municipality urges all respected citizens to cooperate with this national initiative to maintain order, beautify the city, and ensure fair use of urban spaces. According to the cabinet’s decision, this process will be expanded to all provinces of the country, removing the wartime appearance of the cities and restoring urban beauty
