In the 8th and 16th Districts, the road construction project from Karte-e-Naw to Qala-e-Zaman Khan has reached 50 percent progress, with efforts currently underway to prepare the road for asphalt paving as soon as possible.
The road spans 3,070 meters in length and 30 meters in width, and includes drainage systems, 19,000 cubic meters of retaining walls, walkways, flowerbeds, bicycle lanes, lighting systems, and road markings and efforts are made to complete the project within a short period and open it for public use.
According to Kabul Municipality officials, once completed, the project will provide significant ease of movement for residents and reduce traffic congestion on surrounding roads.
Meanwhile, construction work is also ongoing on the connecting road from Qala-e-Zaman Khan’s main road to the Kabul–Jalalabad highway. Upon completion of both projects, substantial improvements are expected in transportation, social services, and the overall urban infrastructure of the area.
