Following the clearance of expropriated properties and other obstacles, practical construction has begun on the new Barchi connecting road extending from the Naqqash Hamam area to the Omid Sabz Township in District 13.
The project covers three kilometers in length and 30 meters in width. It includes the construction of a drainage system, sidewalks, flowerbeds, installation of streetlights, road markings, and other components of a standard roadway. The work is expected to be completed in about one year.
Once finished, the road will help reduce traffic congestion on the Barchi Road and create opportunities for economic growth in the surrounding areas.
This project is regarded as an important step by Kabul Municipality toward expanding the city’s road network and will provide significant facilities for residents of Kabul’s western zone.
