Deck Slab Reinforcement Work Underway Above the Underground Road at Baraki Intersection

After the installation of girders toward the Traffic Square at Baraki Intersection, Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Works, Maintenance, and Monitoring has begun deck slab reinforcement work on the underground road, which is 48 meters long. Concrete works are expected to start in the near future.
Project Manager Engineer Obaidullah Elham said that the installation of 49 girders for the underground road toward the traffic square at Baraki Intersection has been completed. He added that preliminary activities are underway for installing 44 more girders toward Naderia High School, with the main installation scheduled to begin later this week. Following this, deck slab reinforcement work will also be carried out over a 43-meter section toward Naderia High School.
He further stated that once the bridge covers are completed, excavation and road construction will begin in the central section. According to the project engineer, this stage is regarded as one of the most important technical phases of the project and plays a key role in ensuring structural strength and stability.
The underground road extending from Naderia High School toward the traffic square measures 470 meters in length, 20 meters in width, and 5.5 meters in depth.
Additionally, construction work on the Baraki Intersection overpass, stretching from Dahan-e Bagh Intersection toward Parwan-e Du Intersection, is expected to commence soon. The overpass will be 700 meters long, 20 meters wide, and 5.5 meters high.
Kabul Municipality has called on all residents to refrain from unnecessary travel during the execution of the project and to cooperate to ensure its orderly and timely completion.
