As part of efforts to expand Kabul’s transportation infrastructure, asphalt work on the remaining one-kilometer section of Phase One of the Kabul-Logar Road is nearing completion.
According to the Programs and Projects Management Directorate of Kabul Municipality, three kilometers of the road have already been paved across three lanes, while asphalt work on an additional one-kilometer section over two lanes is currently in progress.
At the same time, foundational work on the remaining parts of the road is ongoing, with the overall project reaching 36 percent completion.
The first section of the Kabul-Logar Road, stretching from Nejat Monument to Charkh-e Ab, measures seven kilometers in length and 60 meters in width. The project includes construction of the Mastan Canal, a 20-meter-long and 5-meter-wide bridge on Shiwakee Road, drainage systems, sidewalks, flowerbeds, road markings, lighting installation, and other elements of a standard roadway.
Kabul Municipality aims to complete the project on schedule and maintain high quality.
This first section of the Kabul-Logar Road is one of the key infrastructure projects in the city’s southeast zone. Once finished, it will provide residents with improved transportation access and contribute to economic growth in the surrounding areas.
