
Public awareness carried out in District 11 on reducing and preventing air pollution and maintaining environmental cleanliness. The awareness program was carried out by Kabul Municipality’s Environmental Health and Environmental Protection Directorate, together with the Publications and Public Awareness Directorate, in coordination with District 11, and targeted operators of saunas and bathhouses in the area.
Operators were informed about compliance with Kabul Municipality’s rules and regulations, as well as the availability and proper operation of smoke filtration systems for central heating. Emphasis was placed on the importance of continuous monitoring of smoke filtration filters.
Operators were also encouraged to use purified coal and to refrain from burning fuels that produce excessive smoke emissions.
In addition, sauna and bathhouse managers were advised to maintain environmental cleanliness within their operational areas and to give due attention to public health.
It was noted that smoke filtration filters must be inspected and cleaned on a daily or weekly basis, and that timely measures should be taken to resolve any technical problems.
