Construction work on the third section of the Khair Khana Kotal Road is continuing in an organized manner under the supervision of Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Works Maintenance and Monitoring.
At present, activities are focused on the road’s foundational sections, construction of retaining walls and the drainage system, leveling, and excavation along the mountainside. Subject to weather conditions, another section of the road is also planned to be asphalted.
The road runs 3,647 meters in length and 27 meters in width on the right side, extending from the Sarai Shamali area to the upper part of the Kotal. Earlier, the first asphalt layer had been completed on a 1,800-meter section with a width of 12 meters.
The project is of particular importance for improving access for residents of the country’s northern provinces, and Kabul Municipality is working to complete it on time and with high quality.
