Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Works Maintenance and Monitoring has started a surface water management project along the road in the 5th Block of Ahmad Shah Baba Township in District 12, with the goal of improving water control and addressing technical challenges.
In the area, construction work is in progress on a drainage system measuring 33 meters in length, 85 centimeters in width, and 50 centimeters in depth.
The project was started after identifying vulnerable points and, once completed, is expected to ensure organized management of surface water in Block Five of Ahmad Shah Baba Township.
It is also noted that rehabilitation of surface water systems, construction of manholes, slab brushing, construction of culverts, and connecting drainage ditches to canals are among Kabul Municipality’s key activities in the area of surface water management.
