
Concrete works on five projects involving sub-roads and alleys in the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 27th, 29th, and 46th sections of District 8 have been completed and officially handed over for public use. The handover ceremony was attended by the Director of Kabul Municipality’s Programs and Projects Management Directorate, Engineer Mirurrahman Naseri, the Deputy Assistant of District 8, Mawlawi Anwar-ul-Haq Hanafi, along with local residents and community elders.
At the ceremony, the Director of Programs and Projects Management stated that the projects have a combined length of 4,325 meters, with widths ranging from 3 to 6 meters. He explained that the works, including the construction of drainage systems, were fundamentally completed within five months at a cost of 41 million Afghanis and were implemented by Kabul Municipality in accordance with UNOPS standards.
He further noted that the completion of these sub-roads and alleys will eliminate dust and mud-related problems for residents and provide improved access to transportation and various social facilities. Residents of the relevant sections were encouraged to cooperate with Kabul Municipality in the maintenance and protection of the newly constructed roads and alleys.
Local residents, meanwhile, expressed their satisfaction with the efforts of Kabul Municipality and committed themselves to taking proper care of the completed infrastructure.
