Construction works on the initial section of the Kabul–Jalalabad Road are continuing, encompassing the development of foundational road structures and drainage channels, as well as excavation, soil transport, and leveling activities.
Earlier, the first asphalt layer was applied to a 4,800-meter section of the road, and foundational works on an additional three-kilometer section have also been completed.
The road stretches 9,397 meters in length and 60 meters in width, extending from the Makrorian intersection to the Paktiakot area, and has been designed in accordance with standard road specifications.
Given the significance of this road in reducing traffic congestion and supporting economic growth in the city, Kabul Municipality is striving to complete the project as promptly as possible.
Meanwhile, the second section of the road, extending from Paktiakot to Tangi Gharo, is currently in the procurement phase, and implementation works are expected to commence in the near future.
