
Alhaj Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, Minister of Interior Affairs, commended the activities and achievements of Kabul Mayor Mawlawi Abdul Rashid, describing his role in the reconstruction and development of the city as highly commendable.
The appreciation ceremony was attended by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Sheikh Hamdullah Nomani, the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Mawlawi Mohammad Yunus Akhundzada, and the Head of Emirati Companies, Mawlawi Ahmad Jan Bilal.
In his speech, the Interior Minister stated that due to the mayor’s sound leadership and effective management, notable progress has been achieved in Kabul’s development process, leading to an unprecedented increase in public satisfaction.
He noted that infrastructure and public service projects have been planned and implemented in a systematic, thoughtful, and forward-looking manner, fostering public confidence in a more developed and prosperous future for the city.
He further described public–private partnership projects of Kabul Municipality as a valuable contribution to economic growth, assessed the city’s sanitation conditions as satisfactory, and evaluated cooperation between the police and urban institutions as positive, while emphasizing the need to further strengthen coordination.
In recognition of his efforts, Alhaj Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani honored the Kabul mayor with a ceremonial turban, cloak, and a commemorative statue, while also encouraging and motivating Kabul Municipality employees.
He emphasized that the construction of roads and bridges plays a vital role in reducing traffic congestion and addressing public challenges, stressing that the successful implementation of infrastructure and public welfare projects requires active public cooperation. He expressed optimism that through public participation and the efforts of relevant institutions, Kabul city will soon become a beautiful, standard, and livable city.
