The installation of street lighting on the connecting road linking Blocks 13, 14, 15, and 16 of Ahmad Shah Baba Mina in District 12 has been completed and the project has been officially handed over for public use.
According to Engineer Mohammad Dawood Zawab, Technical Deputy of Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Works Maintenance and Monitoring, 107 lighting poles equipped with lamps have been installed along the 3,500-meter road. He said the lighting will ensure proper illumination at night and play an important role in improving traffic safety, pedestrian security, reducing urban crime, enhancing the city’s appearance, and facilitating nighttime movement and activities.
He added that among the installed poles, 73 are double-arm and 34 are single-arm, with the total cost of the project amounting to 9,183,590 Afghanis.
Officials noted that the road itself was constructed last year by Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Works Maintenance and Monitoring, measuring 2,860 meters in length with widths of 30 and 40 meters and constructed in accordance with standard specifications.
According to Kabul Municipality, the construction of this road has contributed to reducing traffic congestion in the area, provided various urban and social facilities for residents, and supported economic growth in the surrounding areas.
