Construction of a monument and a green space in the Golayee Park area of District 11, initiated earlier by Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Cultural Affairs with support from the Mine Clearance Coordination Directorate, is approaching completion.
The nine-meter-high monument has been designed in a classical architectural style, reflecting Islamic and national values, and aims to honor the memory of those who lost their lives in landmine explosions across the country.
According to the design plan, the site includes an enclosed area, lighting system, green spaces, a library, and a museum. Once completed, the project is expected to enhance the city’s appearance and play an important role in preserving cultural heritage.
Alongside road construction and other municipal services, Kabul Municipality places strong emphasis on urban beautification, recognizing its positive impact on citizens’ mental well-being.
After the completion of remaining works and the transfer of books, the cultural site will be officially opened for public use.
