Initial Construction Work Begins on New Road from Bagrami Bridge to Malalai Intersection

The preliminary construction work on a new connecting road from Bagrami Bridge to the southern side of the Malalai (Butkhak) intersection has commenced within the boundaries of Districts 8 and 22. The project is being implemented by Kabul Municipality in cooperation with the owners of properties subject to expropriation.
Based on the design prepared by the Urban Infrastructure Directorate of Kabul Municipality, the road will have a total length of 5,543 meters. Of this, 4,983 meters will be constructed with a width of 30 meters, while the remaining 650 meters will be 45 meters wide. After the clearance of obstacles, the project will be carried out in a fundamental and standard manner over a period of 14 months under the supervision of the Directorate of Programs and Projects Management.
Along the planned route, 421 properties are affected by expropriation. In accordance with relevant laws and procedures, alternative rights will be allocated to the property owners.
Officials noted that the completion of this road will significantly contribute to the expansion of Kabul’s traffic and transport infrastructure and will also facilitate smoother movement for residents of the surrounding areas.
