Initial Construction Work Begins on New Connecting Road Between Kabul–Jalalabad and Kabul–Parwan Roads

The initial construction work on a new connecting road linking the Kabul–Jalalabad Road to the industrial parks and extending onward to the Kabul–Parwan Road has begun within Districts 9, 18, and 19. The project has been launched by Kabul Municipality at a total cost of 374,407,690 Afghanis.
According to the design prepared by Kabul Municipality’s Urban Infrastructure Directorate, the road is 3,544 meters long and 60 meters wide and includes the construction of a 631-meter canal. After the clearance of existing obstacles, the road will be implemented in a fundamental and standard manner within a period of 15 months under the supervision of the Directorate of Programs and Projects Management.
Once completed, the project will provide considerable ease of transportation for residents of Districts 9, 18, and 19. It will also help distribute traffic between the eastern and northeastern routes of Kabul city and contribute to economic development in the surrounding areas.
Along the alignment of this road, 106 properties fall under expropriation, and in line with relevant principles and procedures, alternative rights will be provided to the affected owners.
