Initial construction work on a vehicle flyover in front of the Kabul Provincial administrative building is progressing in an organized manner under the supervision of the Directorate of Works Maintenance and Monitoring. Current activities include excavation, soil transportation, and reinforcement works.
Based on the technical design, the flyover will be 235 meters long, 18 meters wide, and 6.8 meters high, and will be supported by five reinforced pillars. The project also includes a circular ramp with a radius of 33 meters and a length of 155 meters and is planned to be completed within the next 14 months.
The flyover has been designed with four traffic lanes, including two inbound and two outbound lanes, and features loop-style ramps that play an important role in organizing vehicle movement.
This major and strategic project is regarded as an important step toward reducing traffic congestion in central parts of the city. Its implementation will mark a new phase in traffic management and urban infrastructure development.
Given that Salang Avenue is one of Kabul’s central, commercial, and highly congested areas, the construction of a flyover at this location was considered essential. Once completed, it is expected to ease traffic congestion in Shahr-e Naw, Deh Afghanan, and surrounding areas, while ensuring smoother mobility for residents.
