Construction work on a vehicle flyover in front of the Kabul provincial administrative building, between Sadarat Intersection and Joi Shir Road, is currently underway by the Works Maintenance and Monitoring Directorate of Kabul Municipality.
Project Manager Engineer Khush Mohammad Saihoon stated that the bridge will measure 235 meters in length, 18 meters in width, and 6.8 meters in height, and will include 472 meters of shared wall. The structure will be supported by six reinforced pillars. In addition, the project features a circular ramp with a radius of 33 meters and a length of 150 meters, which will help regulate traffic flow.
He added that the flyover has been designed with four lanes, two for inbound and two for outbound traffic and includes loop-style ramps that will play an important role in organizing vehicle movement.
Since Salang Avenue is regarded one of Kabul city’s central, commercial, and congested areas, the construction of a flyover at this location was deemed necessary to reduce traffic congestion in Shahr-e Naw, Deh Afghanan, and surrounding areas, while also facilitating smoother transportation for residents.
