Initial works on the second section of the Bagrami–Lata Band Road up to the Kabul–Jalalabad Road in District 21 have begun. The project, with a length of 2,706 meters and a width of 60 meters, is being implemented from the internal budget of Kabul Municipality at a cost of 259,431,610 Afghanis.
According to information from the Directorate of Programs and Projects Management, the road is an important connecting route that will facilitate transit in Kabul’s eastern zone and contribute to the economic growth of nearby areas. The construction work is expected to be fundamentally completed within 14 months.
It was added that excavation, soil transportation, and the removal of obstacles have now begun to prepare the ground for the construction of the main layers of the road.
The road has been designed with two main lanes and two sub-lanes, and includes drainage channels, pedestrian walkways, flowerbeds, bus stops, streetlights, and road markings.
Meanwhile, construction work on the initial section of the road, measuring 3,300 meters in length and 60 meters in width, is also underway. The implementation of these two sections will contribute to the expansion of transportation infrastructure in Kabul city and provide numerous transportation facilities for residents.
