Construction of the third section of Khair Khana Kotal Road by the Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Works Maintenance and Monitoring is progressing steadily and has reached 62 percent completion.
The road extends 3,647 meters in length and 27 meters in width from the Sarai Shamali area toward the right side. According to officials, before the onset of winter, the first asphalt layer of a 1,800-meter section with a width of 12 meters was completed.
Efforts are currently underway to prepare the remaining sections for asphalt paving as soon as possible. The project includes the construction of drainage channels, retaining walls, and five culverts measuring between 27 and 83 meters in length and 1.5 to 3.6 meters in width, as well as flowerbeds, road markings, and the installation of street lighting.
Khair Khana Kotal Road is considered one of the key economic corridors in northern Kabul, playing an important role in facilitating transportation. Kabul Municipality aims to complete the project on time and in accordance with quality standards.
