Construction work on sidewalks along Diwan Begi to Mahtab Qala Road is currently underway in Districts 5 and 6, implemented by the Directorate of Work Maintenance and Monitoring of Kabul Municipality. The sidewalks, constructed using stones, extend 1,733 meters in length and 3.2 meters in width.
The first layer of asphalt on the road has previously been completed, and the second layer is expected to be applied in the coming days.
The new road measures 1,733 meters in length and 30 meters in width. A main vehicle bridge has also been constructed along the route over the Kabul River, measuring 21.5 meters in length and 20 meters in width, and plays an important role in connecting surrounding areas.
The project further includes the construction of drainage systems, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, and green spaces, along with road markings and the installation of a lighting system.
Upon completion, the road is expected to help reduce traffic congestion on Company and Barchi roads and contribute to the economic development of nearby areas.
