
Kabul Mayor Mawlawi Abdul Rashid conducted a close inspection of the implementation process of five major road construction projects in the southeastern zone of Kabul and issued necessary instructions to relevant officials to prevent substandard work.
The projects include the first section of the Kabul–Logar Road, the road extending from Bini Hissar to Stanikzai and onward to Bagrami, the southern road from Bagrami Bridge to Malalai Intersection and then to Butkhak Intersection, as well as Kamari Road located on the western side of the Bagrami project.
During the inspection, the Kabul Mayor prevented the use of low-quality materials in the road foundation work from Stanikzai Intersection to Bagrami and stressed that all forms of negligence and carelessness must be avoided. He emphasized that all stages of the road construction process should be implemented in accordance with standards.
The mayor also stated that the quality and transparency of the projects are being strictly monitored, adding that substandard work would not be accepted and, if identified, would be demolished and reconstructed.
He instructed the contracting companies to complete the projects on schedule and with high quality through the effective use of available resources and compliance with technical documents.
The Kabul Mayor also directed technical and engineering officials to continuously supervise all stages of the projects and ensure that construction materials are tested in laboratories before use.
It was noted that the purpose of these inspections is to ensure project quality, accelerate implementation, and prevent delays in the execution of Kabul’s infrastructure projects.
