To improve transportation facilities and support economic growth in surrounding areas, foundational construction and expansion work on the second phase of the Kabul–Jalalabad Road, extending from Makrorian Intersection to Tangi Gharo, is progressing in an organized manner.
The project, which stretches from Paktiakot to the Tangi Gharo checkpoint, covers 10,293 meters in length and 60 meters in width. The road design also includes drainage systems, sidewalks, green spaces, bicycle lanes, lighting installations, and road markings.
Previously, construction and expansion work on the initial phase of the road had also started in line with the city’s master plan, covering 9,398 meters in length and 60 meters in width, with work on that section still ongoing.
The construction of the road, regarded as an important economic corridor for the eastern zone of Kabul, has long been a key demand of residents and is now advancing toward completion.
