Following the completion of foundational construction works, the Directorate of Works Maintenance and Monitoring of Kabul Municipality has asphalted an additional 630-meter section of the third phase of Khair Khana Kotal Road, with a width of 12 meters.
The third phase of the road, located in Districts 11 and 17, extends from Sarai Shamali Intersection to the upper section of the Kotal near the Oil and Gas Administration. The project covers a total length of 3,647 meters and a width of 27 meters and includes all components of a standard road.
A 1,800-meter section of the road, measuring 12 meters in width, was asphalted before last winter. Efforts are currently underway to complete asphalt paving on the remaining sections once the required foundational works are finalized.
Khair Khana Kotal Road is regarded as one of Kabul’s major transit corridors, linking the capital with the northern provinces of the country.
The completion and expansion of the remaining sections are expected to enhance transportation facilities and improve mobility for residents and commuters.
