
Construction of the first phase of the Kabul–Jalalabad Road, extending from Makrorian Intersection to Paktiakot, is progressing rapidly, with efforts underway to prepare the remaining sections for asphalt paving soon.
The first phase of the Kabul–Jalalabad Road extends 9,397 meters from Makrorian Intersection to Paktiakot and has a width of 60 meters. The project includes the construction of drainage canals, sidewalks, flowerbeds, bicycle lanes, road markings, and other features of a standard roadway.
Asphalt paving has been completed on 6 kilometers of the road, while construction on the remaining sections is continuing to prepare them for paving.
The Directorate of Programs and Projects Management of Kabul Municipality is conducting continuous technical and engineering supervision throughout all phases of the project to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Upon completion, the project is expected to support the city’s economic growth and provide significant improvements in transportation for residents.
The construction of the road is scheduled to be completed during the current year, after which it will be opened for public use.
